Perinatal and Postpartum Therapy
Becoming a parent can be beautiful, and it can also be overwhelming, lonely, and confusing. Maybe you're anxious in ways you didn't expect, crying more than usual, feeling numb, or wondering why this doesn't feel the way you thought it would. You don't have to wait until you're falling apart to get support.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Morgan Hill, CA, and I specialize in perinatal and postpartum mental health. I work with people during pregnancy, after birth, and through the first years of parenthood, offering a steady place to feel heard without judgment.
Mood and anxiety concerns can show up at any point in that window, including during pregnancy, and they can look very different from person to person. Common experiences include:
Postpartum depression: persistent sadness, hopelessness, irritability, or feeling disconnected from your baby or yourself
Postpartum anxiety: constant worry, racing thoughts, trouble sleeping even when the baby sleeps, or physical tension that won't ease
Intrusive thoughts: unwanted, frightening thoughts about your baby's safety, which are more common than most people realize
Birth trauma: distress, flashbacks, or avoidance after a difficult or frightening birth experience
Identity and relationship changes: feeling lost, overwhelmed, or distant from your partner
None of this means you're failing as a parent. These are real, treatable mental health concerns.
How I Can Help
My approach is attachment-based. Becoming a parent often stirs up your own early experiences of being cared for, and those patterns can shape how you feel about yourself, your baby, and your relationships right now. In our work together, we'll:
Make sense of what you're feeling without shame
Calm your nervous system so anxiety and overwhelm feel more manageable
Explore how your own history is showing up in parenthood
Strengthen your connection with your partner, your baby, and yourself
Build practical coping tools for the hard moments
Many clients tell me they feel more stable, more at ease in their bodies, and more confident as parents. Every person's path is different, and we'll move at a pace that works for you.
